"The Bicycle Thief" October First Tuesday Film Showing
The First Tuesday Port Townsend Bicycle Salon in October will be a showing of the classic film "The Bicycle Thief." Join us at 7 PM for some popcorn, social time and a viewing. Free. Bring your friends.
The First Tuesdays Bicycle Salons are always at 7 PM at 236 Taylor Street (Port Townsend School of the Arts gallery) in downtown Port Townsend.
This film is a masterpiece of Italian neorealism. Many film critics rate this film as one of the 10 greatest films ever made. The film is about a poor father searching post WWII Rome for his stolen bicycle which he depends on for his continuing employment and the welfare of his young family. The film was originally released in Italy in 1948 and in the US in 1949. Directed by Vittorio De Sica, we will be viewing the sub-titled version of the film in the intimate setting of the Port Townsend School of the Arts Taylor Street gallery. This is a free showing.
